Knob Noster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Speech Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 School Year. A $3,000 annual stipend along with all required certification and training fees could be provided by the district.
The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
The SLP will be responsible for conducting evaluations, writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans, collaborating with teachers and facilitating individual/small group therapy sessions at the elementary level. Shoudl the candidate be an SLP-A, they will assist with all the responsiblities above under the direction of a lead SLP teacher.
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Hold a Speech Language Pathologist Certification from DESE
An SLP-A may be considered with the following qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent defined as 21 hours in five speech/language areas, 25 hours of observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting or practicum. Licensed through MO Board of Healing Arts.
POSITION TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS: Missouri license as a Speech Language Pathologist from the State Board of Registration of the Healing Arts and/or a Missouri Speech and Language Specialist Teaching Certificate
JOB GOAL: Assess students and provide services to eligible students exhibiting a speech and/or language impairment that is impacting functioning in the educational setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Screen students for determination of speech/ language evaluation needs
- Conduct speech/ language evaluations and interpret results; determine eligibility for services under IDEA
- Case manage IEPs for students served under the eligibility categories of speech and/or language
- Serve as a member of IEP and eligibility teams
- Develop Individual Education Plans and implementation of services
- Maintain data for progress monitoring and reporting
- Conduct individual and small group sessions to address student goals
- Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom activities and supports to promote speech and language skills of students
- Be able to assist students and staff with instructional technology and assistive technology to promote instruction and independence
- Provide staff development and support related to speech and language functioning of students
- Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students and community
- Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change
- Other duties as assigned
- SLP-A will do many of the above under direct supervision of an SLP Lead.
